CattleQuants Receives $1 Million Grant

The CattleQuants Team is excited to announce the award of nearly $1 million in grant funding from the National Science Foundation through the Small Business Innovation Research program.  These funds will be used to further develop the CattleQuantsTM technology and will empower us to provide our customers with more insight into cattle inventories, livestock weight, and cattle health in real-time.

The key objectives for this project are:

1. Develop methods for real-time cattle weight estimation on drone images of feedlot pens or herds on pastures.

 2. Further improve methods for cattle counting on drone-acquired images of pastures and ranches.

3. Develop drone-based methods for detecting and identifying cows with bovine respiratory disease and other bovine illnesses.

This research will be conducted in collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Amarillo, TX; at Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC in Greeley, CO; and at our headquarters in Cleveland, OH.
